We’ve participated previously and this time around Botanical Earth will be in both sets – so beside this first set of 39 designers (plus us makes 40), we’ll have another set of coupons for 39 other designers as we are in both Round 6a and b!

Shortly the entire list of participating indie businesses will be listed on the Totally Indie Coupon site. Only by ordering from one of the stores involved will you be able to receive a pack. I can say there’s a 20% off Botanical Earth coupon in there that’s good till August ‘08!

I just received the new round of Totally Indie Coupons. Now until we run out, every order will receive a packet of 40 different independent (indie) designer discounts. I’ve participated in the past and customers really enjoyed finding new shops – everything from clothes, stationary, jewerly and yes, even other body care businesses. The discounts run from free shipping, 10-20% off or a few free gifts with purchase.

It’s a great co-op marketing for small businesses like Botanical Earth. Lindsay Landis over at Lindsay Designs puts it all together for everyone. Besides running TotallyIndieCoupons.com, she also has a fantastic website where she creates unique acessories for people and pets. I love her fabric dog collars….but back to the coupons!

Try before you buy (part 2)

Well if you haven’t seen the Home of the Sampler before, it’s an indie site that helps small independant businesses to share and get their samples out to others.

I sent off Mint Lip Balm samples for the November 2005 mailer, and received some great samples in my package – you get a free one if you donate. In the November Sampler, I received a hand knitted curly scarf from knitter, Brooke Brerk. It was something I never thought I would like or wear, but once I put it on…..I really like it. I liked it enough to hunt her down and ask to have her knit some holiday presents for me. She did a beautiful job on everything and you can see what they looked like under her HomeSpun Ruffle listing. I have to say, I never would have found her if it wasn’t for the Sampler.

One of the best sample items were a pair of cocktail sword earrings from Kikix .
Other items included handmade cards from ArtGhost.com , eggagogo.com and Nerdbomber.

I’m really looking forward to this month’s mailer as it should be here any day.
